Jimmy Kyle Davis, Knoxville TNMr. Davis graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1980. He has thirty years experience in criminal law as a defense attorney, a prosecutor, and as a General Sessions Court Judge. He began practicing in 1981, and in 1982 he became an assistant district attorney general in the Knox County Attorney General’s Office. While serving in the District Attorney’s office, he gained experience in all areas of criminal law, including Driving Under the Influence (DUI)/Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

Attorney Jimmy Kyle Davis returned to the private practice of law in 1984 as a criminal defense attorney. He has extensive experience representing clients in the Knox County courts, as well as surrounding counties at both the state and federal level. This representation includes charges of DUI and DWI, as well as all misdemeanor and more serious criminal charges.

Jimmy Kyle Davis, Attorney, was elected to the State House of Representatives in 1984, where he served with distinction until 1992. While a member of the General Assembly, Attorney Davis was the primary sponsor of legislation that revised and modernized criminal laws in Tennessee, including DUI, DWI, and other misdemeanors and felonies. For his dedication and work on this revision he was awarded the prestigious Achievement Award from the Foundation for Improvement of Justice, Inc. in 1986.

Attorney Jimmy Kyle Davis has been a member of the Knoxville Bar Association throughout his thirty year career. He is currently an active member of the Knoxville Bar Association.

In 2006 Mr. Davis was appointed to serve as Knox County General Sessions Court Judge. He presided over all types of criminal and civil cases, including DUI/DWI and other misdemeanor and felony cases. The Knox County Commission elected to award this position of trust to Attorney Davis, which he considered a privilege and a high honor. After serving as General Sessions Court Judge in 2006, he returned to the private practice of law as a criminal defense attorney.
